Today we started working on a presentation about a character of The Sorrow of War, I chose to do it about Kien; about what 10 things I would find in his trash can.

While reading today, I learned more about what Kien's relationship with his parents was like as well as he and Phuong's relationship right before Kien went off to war. What Phuong said about Kien's dad impacted me, I did not expect her to say that. 

I liked this class period. I got a good amount of work done and I have been slowly progressing in my google slides since we ended class. It's surprisingly hard to come up with more than 7 things I would find in Kien's trash can.

Today, I am feeling good. I went to sleep earlier last night at about 10:30 (still not early enough) so waking up at 6 was not hard. My goal is to be in bed by the latest 9:30 every day. I was pretty productive today so I feel fulfilled in that sense. Still, nothing makes me feel any more fulfilled than being filled with the triune God Himself by calling on His name and reading His word in my spirit. 

In Romans 9, Paul talks about how the "potter" makes "vessels" some unto honor and some unto dishonor. We are made as vessels to be filled with God Himself, which we can see even in Genesis with the garden of Eden, where God puts man in front of the Tree of Life (a symbol of God; the word"Life" is zoe in greek: God's divine, eternal life). Forget studying all the scriptures, it is these that testify concerning the Lord! (Jn 5:39) He is the living bread! (Jn 6:51) Eat Him! (Jn 6:57) Drink Him! (1 Cor. 12:13) Breathe Him in! (Job 32:8, Jn 20:22)

If these verses don't make it clear that God wants to fill us with Himself, read Ephesians 3! 

Ephesians 3:17a, 19: That Christ may make His home in your hearts through faith, ... And to know the knowledge-surpassing love of Christ, that you may be filled unto all the fullness of God. 

Lord Jesus, dispense Yourself more and more into me, even unto Your fullness today! I love getting filled with God.

Today we had a substitute teacher and I came in pretty late, but we were given an assignment about the Vietnam war to do in Commonlit, which I've still yet to start on.  I learned more rules about level three lockdowns because we had to do a drill during this class period. I liked this class, but I wish we didn't have to sit in the corner for so long for the lockdown. I would have got much more work done. Jesus is God! I love enjoying God.

 Today we started on a presentation about "A Devoted Son." We got a lot of work done in the long class. I had to battle my OCD because the fonts were all over the place from the theme that I set, and many other formatting things were inconsistent in the presentation while/after we worked on it. I have a problem with taking over too much in group projects because my OCD so strongly wants everything to be my orderly way. I think that I've somewhat overcome this. I kept the weird non-theme-fitting font, but I had to at least make every slide's font the same. I hope we get a good grade on this assignment! O Lord Jesus, how I need You today. Lord, don't let me forget about Your sweet name and Your life-giving Spirit that I can breathe in simply by calling out to You.

 Today I came in a bit late and we were going over two poems, and then answered questions about them on canvas for the rest of class. I wish I came in earlier, because the first poem was called "The Lamb" and it was pretty Biblical; it was about the Lord Jesus but it was very hard to follow. I don't think God made me with a poetry-keen brain, which I am completely fine with. I had some great fellowship with Mr. Rease about the poems and in general about God's predestination and such.  This is the last assignment of the day that I need to get done and it's 3:09; school is about to end. I love doing my schoolwork here because I can go home and enjoy the Lord without Him reminding me to take care of my human responsibilities, because I already have! The Lord has really been getting me through this day; I got 7-ish hours of sleep and I can't wait to take a power nap when I get home.
