Feb 5 + Forgetting the things which are behind
Today some of us presented our slideshow. My presentation went well.
I learned and was reminded of things from the story by watching my peers' presentations, but most of them were about what songs would play during the novel, so it was mostly opinion/imagination-based information.
I liked this class. I had a smooth and pretty interactive presentation and I actually got to class early for once.
In one of the presentations a girl played the song "Telephones" by Vacations, which I hadn't heard in a long time. For a good while, I've been only listening to God-infusing music that brings my love for (and experience of) the Lord higher and higher, such as scripture songs (verses put to tunes) and love songs for the Lord. I mention this other song that played because it gave me a sort of flashback or mild "PTSD" (lack of better expression) to my past relationship. I have some old emotional associations with this song that I've put far behind me, but many things about it came back to mind when the song started playing. Good thing Christ is the pneumatic, breathable life-giving Spirit and I can just call on His name to set my mind back on the things which are above. (Col. 2:3-4)
On this topic, I've got to include Philippians 3:13b-14: "Forgetting the things which are behind and stretching forward to the things which are before, I pursue toward the goal for the prize to which God in Christ Jesus has called me upward."
Also, I've been really enjoying this psalm- 19:1-3.
"The heavens declare the glory of God, and the expanse proclaims the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night tells out knowledge. There is no speech and there are no words; their voice is not heard."
This verse goes very well with Romans 1:20.
"For the invisible things of Him, both His eternal power and divine characteristics, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being perceived by the things made, so that they would be without excuse;"
