Apr 29 + God's righteousness + Christ's all-inclusive victorious death

Today we looked at a very simple poem and found two themes in it, wrote 10 of our own ideas of things that have a lot depending upon them, and were assigned to choose 5 questions on the poem out of 10 options to answer on Canvas. For the first thing that I know there is a lot depending upon, I put "God's righteousness." Psalm 89:14a says: "Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne." This is just a kind of cool verse at first sight, but when you really consider it (especially after turning to your spirit by calling "O Lord Jesus") you can see that it's saying quite a lot. God on His throne is the One upholding and administrating the entire universe in both the physical and spiritual realm, and the very foundation of His throne, which has the whole universe depending on it, is His righteousness.  This righteousness, which condemned man prior to the Lord Jesus dying to fulfill God's righteous demand for us, is the very same righ...

Today we researched what the minimum wage in Georgia is and we calculated some expenses that are necessary for living on that wage. I was struck by how hard it would be to live on minimum wage. This class period made me realize how thankful I have to be for my lawn business. I don't even pay taxes (for now...) and I sometimes make upwards of $40/hr. I do thank the Lord for the situation He's put me in every once in a while, and I also (at least now that I don't have weed in my system bringing my motivation down) try to make sure to take advantage of this privileged situation by being as hard-working as possible.  O Lord Jesus, fill me with Your resurrection life today. Thank You, Lord for putting me where Your sovereign hand has.

Apr 24 + staying in my spirit

Today we watched a video about the ways that someone living on $7.50/hr manages their life. I came in halfway through the video, so later on in the discussion I was surprised to hear that this person doesn't even have a budget while living on that low of a wage. I am feeling good today. I am trying to stay turned to my spirit all day long, and I'm starting to see how difficult that really is. I want to develop such a constant fellowship and dependent relationship with the Lord that I would feel very uncomfortable in any moment that I'm not turned to Him. Simply striving to do this shows how much more I could be mingled with Him in my daily life and it's quite a wake-up call. If I had to estimate, I'd say I'm in my spirit for 1/8 of my day on average. That's pretty good considering how much time there is from me waking up to going to sleep, but it shows that I'm only in my spirit for 12.5% of my day and I have 87.5% of my day to improve on and learn to b...

Apr 15 and 16

On Monday, April 15th I was absent. Today we got another Newsela assignment (apparently we were assigned one on Monday.) I enjoyed class today; I had a short chat with Mr. Rease about a couple of things.  I was late to school today because I was writing two-part lyrics for me to record over myself on multiple tracks for a new song I wrote. I feel like the Lord would rather me be at school on time than even be doing things like figuring out how to record a song for the saints' enjoyment, and I strive (by His own supply of grace--Himself being my life-supply) to consider my prioritizing of these things in prayer to Him before I miss the chance to stay in His will by already being late for school. O Lord Jesus, perfect me; keep me in the process of transformation and mind-renewing.  My new song is (almost word-for-word) Ephesians 2:1-14a. I put a tune on these verses and judging by the fact that the chorus is always replaying in my head, I think it's very catchy. Often when...

Apr 12

On Friday I picked up some work that I missed and we worked on a sheet about claims; we did three of each. I enjoyed this class period because it was engaging and we didn't have much work to do.  Praise God. He is Jesus.

I was absent on Wednesday, April 10th.

Apr 9 (What I did over spring break)

Over the break, I made money doing lawn work. I wanted spring break to be a productive "preview" of how my summer would go with my lawn business, and praise the Lord Jesus- it sure was. I collected around $1,100 during the break. I had started one job about a week or two before the break, so I actually labored and earned about $700 of that sum over the 12 day time period. I'm happy to say truthfully that I enjoyed the Lord very much and got constituted with the word and the ministry all break long. One thing that I love about doing lawn work is that (most of the time) I can just listen to an exposition of the Bible or God-infusing music while I'm making money, alongside the somewhat high wage that I get because I'm doing hard-ish work outside. I pray often that the Lord would anoint and head up all of my decisions with the business so that I could be very successful and work this success toward his purpose. I like this verse where Paul is talking about how he is ...
